Casa Chicho - Playa Famara

Morning Stroll on Playa Famara

When you stay at Casa Chicho you are just a two minute walk from the sand dunes and the fantastic Playa Famara

The long, sandy beach stretches as far as the eye can see, edging the base of the cliffs and punctuated by zocos, small stone circles that provide shelter from the sometimes stiff Atlantic breezes and the perfect place to build up that all-over tan.

However, Lanzarote has many other fabulous beaches, from "town beaches" with all the facilities close at hand, to fantastic isolated stretches of white, golden or volcanic sand accessible only to the few who know of their existence.

Lanzarote Beach Guide (under construction):

Lanzarote Beaches can be broadly divided into Windward and Leeward:

Windward Beaches (West Coast):

The Windward Beaches which include Famara,   La Santa Estuary Janubio, and El Risco tend to be cooler than the Leeward beaches and to have more "interesting" surf!

Leeward Beaches (East Coast):

The Leeward (East Coast) beaches tend to be associated with the major tourism and residential areas although there are some spectacular exceptions to this including the world famous beaches of Papagayo at the southern tip of Lanzarote.

North East Lanzarote | Costa Teguise | Arrecife | Puerto del Carmen | Southern Lanzarote

Papagayo, Playa Blanca, El Salao, La Cochina, La Canteria, Caleton Blanco, La Garita, El Palo, La Chucharas, Playa Bastian, El Reducto, El Cable, Playa Honda, Guacimeta, Matagorda, Los Pocillos, Playa Grande

La Arena, Las Conchas, Puerto Muelas, Mujeres
