Playa Famara - the longest beach on Lanzarote

Lying on the North-west coast of Lanzarote, Famara comprises two parts: the fishing village of La Caleta de Famara, and the Famara Bungalows, including Casa Chicho, which lie on the lower slopes of the cliffs.

The long, sandy beach stretches as far as the eye can see, edging the base of the cliffs and punctuated by zocos, small stone circles that provide shelter from the sometimes stiff Atlantic breezes and the perfect place to build up that all-over tan.

Not surprisingly, this beach doesn’t get crowded; despite its popularity with surfers, there’s plenty of beach to go round.
